Team Focus and Scope

Operationalize the face to face (F2F) course delivery for Fall 2020

1. Examine instructional spaces, beginning with those being used for approved F2F courses, and determine COVID occupancy

  • What measures will be taken to promote physical distancing in the instructional space (seating removed or cordoned off, furnishings and equipment rearranged, etc.)
  • What measures will be taken to promote adequate physical distancing in the building hallways, stairwells, lavatories, elevators, and other common spaces during the time between course sections
  • What adjustments, if any, may need to be made to the building HVAC and other structures to increase airflow and improve air quality?
  • What SDRC considerations need to be taken into consideration?

2. Evaluate enrollment in courses in comparison to COVID occupancy limitations to determine solutions (ie. if additional sections must be added to meet demand, hours expanded to evenings or weekends, cohort rotation, etc.)

3. Evaluate the scheduled spaces to develop a plan to sanitize the spaces and other protocols.

  • Review established sanitation standards and recommended processes
  • Is there enough time in between sections to adequately sanitize the spaces?
  • Does the campus have adequate staffing to implement more frequent and more rigorous cleaning and sanitization regimens?

4. Develop EH&S plan for each course, which relates to both the course type and the space type
5. Review OAA plan for personnel needed on campus to support F2F course delivery
6. Contribute to signage and communication plans for the campus, to ensure employees and students are aware of necessary precautions and expected behaviors
7. Develop a budget request and recommendation for funding in support of plan implementation.
8. Develop a suggested scenario of needed support services that directly or indirectly aid in the Academic plan for consideration by the EOC-Advanced Planning Group.

Examine prioritized, directly related instructional support, and address sanitization protocols, physical distancing strategies, and address how access will be managed
  • Computer Lab Support
  • Library Services
  • Testing Center
  • Music – Access to Rooms for Required Practice
  • Internships
  • Field Trips
  • Other?
Share information with the campus, solicit stakeholder engagement
  • Maintain website and communication plan
Important Items to Consider, but Not Determine, in FITT:
  1. How to track campus density at any given time
  2. What other F2F services are proposed to be open
  3. What supplies need to be ordered, and how they will be distributed (e.g., provision of Personal Protective Equipment, hand sanitizers, etc., with the reliable supply chain?)
  4. Health checks and tracing for all employees, students
  5. Conduct expectations for students and employees
  6. Develop sanitation standards and guidelines by room area and type (ie. classroom, office, lab, large public space)
